For the 2022 edition of Paradiso Amsterdam's ADE program a new route was taken from the previous style. Moving away from 3D visuals, a 2D approach was taken based on LED panels commonly used at electronic music performances.
Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the most upfront, influential and educational gathering for electronic music and its industry. With its conference, festival and educational breeding ground, ADE is able to create not only the biggest yearly industry tent-pole moment, but also a solid foundation for future generations of electronic music professionals. The event attracts a total of more than 1,000 events in nearly 200 locations across its multidisciplinary program; for five days and nights, the city of Amsterdam truly breathes electronic music.
Taking inspiration from LED panel animations, it seemed like a missed opportunity to have one key visual. Instead, both the digital and printed media used several variations. Headliners got their own animation.
Being a motion-first project, the digital outings quickly had a set of animated patterns to work with. For the posters a similar approach was created through variable printing: With 15 variations printed throughout the city, all stills of the animated patterns, the diversity of the motion outings was emulated.
All artists performing during Paradiso ADE 2022, big or small, got their own photo story and post formats to share on their social media.
